Every game should have a mod like this.
based mod
It seems the author who made this mod is very passionate about it. There is a lot of re-work, both on the models as with the script and voices, even changing the overall personalities, and hence, general essence of the game.
After coming back to this page to write this review, now I see the author has added a context explaining their reason behind the mod, and by the look of it, it seems their purpose was to add a certain level of realism, which might sound goofy from a game with a fictional setting. However, it seems this game follows an alternative timeline from an historical point of the real world, so I think their rationale makes sense.
I am not expert on history, and generally, I don't mind if a game might be realistic or not. I just found interesting the work the author went through to express what they think and what they feel about this game's setting. Pure artistic expression mixed with skill, if you ask me.
best mod.
It's pretty great
good
Zaebis na lane poigrali
Мод короткий, и я честно не понял что там творится. Но всё же я его прошёл. Могло быть и лучше честно, дом дефолтный, ключей максимально мало, соседа нет. Мод бы дополнить другим актом и катсценами, а так норм.
Good story
Ever see something so unabashedly racist and sexist and somehow it's popular? Yea.
Good
Extremely unstable, riddled with repeatable, script based crashes that make progression impossible.
Good concept, but you can't experience it even a little, due to these bugs.
It's just like vanilla Fallout 4 minus some bossy raider girls and really annoying NPCs. Preston Garvey specifically is much better. The original version of him was really, really bland. This newer guy feels like a real character, versus before where there was basically zero acting and just some black guy that's dressed up like he got off the stage of the Hamilton play. I think people might try to excessively emphasize the race element, but while you're playing, things just feel a slight bit better. Like if you made something at home rather than eating out. He basically just added a human touch that was missing.
Quake 2 was a phenomenon when it was first released. It was often being called the greatest fps game ever made, and its influence can still be felt today.
It was a huge step-up technology wise and for its time just looked and played better than anything around it. Furthermore, it pushed PC tech further than anything before, everyone wanted a new PC just to play Quake 2 at its best. The graphics, while not a big deal now, were extremely detailed compared to anything else it had better animation work than the first Quake, larger and more complex environments with huge moving parts to a level, and it was all true 3d.
The coloured lighting was also a big step-up at the time The enemies were more detailed and had some great animation work, so were the gun models that looked so much better than the ones in Quake 1.
I don't have to say much about the soundtrack, it's perfect for the game and is often said to be one of the best soundtracks to any fps game it's a big adrenaline rush.
Its single player was great and is one of IDS more polished campaigns much, more polished than Quake 1 (fight me lol I'm not wrong) it actually had finished boss battles great pacing and an actual story you could follow pure and simply Quake 2 was not rushed. Certain areas of the single player are still very impressive, like the torture chambers and the processing plant where you see tortured marines get....well, you can see for yourself when you play it. Quake 2 does have a limited colour pallet, but things pick up later in the single player and more colour does appear, plenty of reds, blues, green, yellow.
Quake 2 also felt a lot more real compared to anything at the time, but its multiplayer was hugely popular and is what the game is most known for. Pretty much everyone wanted to play the multiplayer, it was addicting. The game had many new features that games simply did not have or could not do yet.
I could go on and on, It's easy to hate Quake 2 these days because the Quake 1 fans have got much louder as time goes on, but Quake 2 was just something else when it first released, and it should be respected now. Please have a look at the new remaster from Knightdive it's the perfect way to get into Quake 2.
Good
Still hoping they release this on PC.. remember playing it long ago and enjoyed it.
awesome game
Story, not so good and neither the graphics for a 2007 game. 1 is definitely way better. but this one has more gore execution
the best game created by rockstars. too bad they don't make these kinds of game anymore.
