Okay, second report. I re-downloaded everything with zero interruptions and no simultaneous PC activities. Then extracted all, again, with no interruptions or simultaneous activities.
Attempted to launch game from fresh extracted files by going to bin_64 and double-clicking the game exe.
Received the same exact error instantly - "Cannot open file "fsgame.ltx". Check your working folder."
Changing the name of the folder to an English name did not help, changed nothing in the results of attempting to launch the game.
Any help out there?
Released a new update, can you try installing it and reporting back to me? Also read install instructions again, they were updated for the patch.
Thanks for the quick reply and the effort you provided, as well as the newer files uploaded.
Unfortunately, this did not help, although the nature of the error I receive is now different.
Now, my error shows in the log file as:
FATAL ERROR
[error]Expression : strchr( str, ']' )
[error]Function : CInifile::Load
[error]File : d:\a\ogsr-engine\ogsr-engine\ogsr_engine\xrcore\xr_ini.cpp
[error]Line : 208
[error]Description : Bad ini section found:
[error]Arguments : [$_na% -DÜ([
Thanks in advance for any help.
I realize the issue may be in the base file set downloaded from MediaFire rather than in the translation files. But, either way, I still cannot get the game to launch.
I have never seen a crash like that before, only advice I can give is to try extracting the mod with 7zip and moving the mod files to somewhere that isn't C:\Users\... (desktop, download folder...) or the program files folder
Not sure if it was the newer files or me figuring out the mistakes I was making. Regardless, I now have the game working and launching properly, and am playing Apocalipsis.
Very enjoyable!!
Thank you for your quick replies and help!!!
Np, I didn't really like the first mod that much, you can tell the author is still very inexperienced, but the quality gets better in Search - Dies Irae
Okay. I do not use C:\users... at all. I use a separate drive with no programs folder.
I will start over and try one more time, then report back here to you.
Thanks again for your quick replies.
Very exciting to see and hopefully play this trilogy with a decent English translation! Thank you to everyone involved in providing these files!!!!!!!!!
Bit of an issue, though. Followed all directions specifically with fresh downloads of all game files in x64. But when I engage bin_x64/xrEngine.exe I get an error notification which states "Cannot open file "fsgame.ltx". Check your working folder."
A followup error message tells me there are detailed notes in the log file, but when I go to App_data, there is no log folder or file.
Can anyone help by giving hints or directions on how to resolve this, please?
Thanks!
I had the same problem but solved it by renaming all the folder names to English names.
Hi Rainor,
One of the first things I did was use Google Translate to figure out which folder was which, and rename them appropriately in English. If you say this apparently worked for you, then perhaps I had some sort of download or extraction glitch.
However, I will empty, uninstall, and delete everything and start over, hoping for better results the next time around.
Thanks for the reply.
