Take up the mask of the Toa and fight to secure the freedom of Voya Nui across six elemental zones and over 25 levels!

Bionicle is one of the most iconic franchises underneath the Lego branding and defined the childhoods of millions. Lasting for almost a decade before its cancellation, from 2001 to 2010, it returned again in 2015 for a brief stint until 2016 and then experienced a minor revival in 2022 with an appearance in the 90 Years of Play set. Whilst Bionicle Heroes was not received well on launch, it's nostalgic for Bionicle fans from the mid-2000s for its usage of the iconic Inika.

In 2020, a modding community surrounding the game formed, opening up all new opportunities for fans of Bionicle to modify the game and bring to life new experiences the true Lego way - by building it themselves from the ground up! Bionicle Heroes mods are still evolving, and are best downloaded using a community-made "Modder Edition" here.

Bionicle Heroes: Matoro Edition 1.2 Release!

Matoro Edition 1.2 - Logo

Hey all! A smaller update today, but a neat one (for some) - a consistency improvement putting Matoro Edition's signature weapon colours on the low res models, in case you fancy the low-fi look. Take a gander!

Visuals

-Reskinned Toa Level 1 low res weapons with Matoro-themed colours: This was a pretty simple state of affairs - retexture the low-res level 1 weapons to be consistent with their high-res equivalents. Jaller's was interesting, as Level 1 Jaller has notable differences between the high-res and low-res models, but otherwise, as expected.

-Reskinned Toa Level 2 low res weapons with Matoro-themed colours: Ditto - though the level 2 weapons are much more consistent stylistically between high-res and low-res, so not as many pronounced differences in the execution.

-Reskinned Toa Level 3 low res weapons with Matoro-themed colours: Once again, Jaller takes the cake for a notable difference in the low-res weapon model - something I've often found interesting enough to consider a "low-res styled high-res" weapon retexture pack. Maybe sometime. Not today though - low-res consistency up at bat.

-Reskinned Piraka low res weapons with Matoro-themed colours: The Piraka are also quite close to their high-res counterparts, and interestingly, the low-res Piraka weapons are still twice the detail/resolution of the low-res Toa weapons. Also, Reidak has no high-res weapon equivalent, which means he's not represented here and was tackled in the last patch, but we still have five weapons to show due to Vezon's low-res equivalent.
