Due to my growing discontent with the current first-party console providers, I've decided to start planning my own game console with a unique twist - it's designed with game modders in mind. To that end, I've come to ask all of you: what would you want from a game console built with tools for modding games? To be clear, this console would not be designed for illegal mods, but rather for mods of games that are sold through the console's shop service, which are covered in the EULA. The intent is to offer highly moddable games original to the system itself, though third parties wishing to open the doors to mods of their preexisting games are welcome to publish games on the system as well. When developing a mod-friendly game console, it is important to do thorough research to ensure the console is easy to modify and supports a wide range of mods. Research should include looking into what type of games the console is best suited for, what type of modding tools and software is available, and Google.com what type of hardware and software the console should have. |

I appreciate the info. I'll be sure to research that. |
