Fading Dusk is a fully stand-alone mod for Tiberian Sun set a year after the events of Firestorm, and tells an original story that deviates from EA's Tiberium Wars. It currently includes 4 fully playable factions as well as a handful of missions with more in development. Our goal is to create something that feels like a continuation of the tone and style set by TS with enhanced and expanded gameplay. The story so far...

A year has passed since the defeat of CABAL by a coalition of GDI and Nod forces. The translation of the Tacitus data matrix has bought humanity time, but fully understanding its secrets has been far more slow and arduous than GDI had hoped for.

After losing two wars and their leader Kane, and their cyborg forces turning against them, Nod are hanging on by a thread. The leader of the Black Hand, Anton Slavik, has assumed control since the firestorm crisis and is looking to show his strength to his followers and enemies alike to ensure the survival of the Brotherhood.

As Earth deteriorates and transforms further, human mutation is escalating rapidly and the Forgotten are finding themselves increasingly numerous and fit for life in this new world. Under new leadership and with the death of their founder Tratos fresh on their minds, they are becoming a marauding army waging a guerilla war for vengeance and supplies.

With resources being ever more scarce, GDI spread thin and exhausted by endless war, and the governments of old being largely a memory, what few scattered standing cities remain have become islands of civilization in a tiberium wasteland, as well as assets coveted by both superpowers. However some of the survivors living in these cities are starting to decide that relying on outside forces for protection and governance is a relic of a dying old world, and are turning their isolated cities into independent city-states.

Against this background of dwindling resources, increased military tension, and the ever-spreading taint of tiberium, it feels as if the world has entered the final act of its grand tiberium story - a final, fading dusk, before the eternal night of a new tiberium world should fall.

Will GDI be able to reverse the damage?

Will Nod be able to regain control?

Will the Forgotten be able to find their destiny?

Will the City State Militia be able to survive and form a new kind of society?

This mod is what EA should have done. It's honestly really well done and the factions are thought out quite well. The navy really was the kicker I was looking for. This is a 15/10 mod any day of the week.

Your mod is doing exactly what I wanted from Tiberian Sun: more immersion through mysterious environment. It's like perfect. I hope this project doesn't die suddenly.

We have a ko-fi link up to support the mod development team, but - because of the EA T&C arrangement - any donations to the team cannot be used to give the donator special privileges, early access, or any type of altered game experience compared to a non-contributing player. Your donations will just help us to cover some basic background costs which pop up from time to time.

It's against EAs modding principal guidelines. You won't be able to do it, even I wouldn't mind to donate, but this could lead to legal action against the Devs if it's allowed. It's a real shame.
