Version 3.
The first campaign pack for Modern Arms shows the start of combat between Russian and Ukrainian troops in February 2022. Environments are much more modernised, and new units are included. Updated to Version 3 on 10 August 2023.
Kyiv Offensive campaign pack
Install instructions:
1. unzip the file, then copy and paste the files and folders from it into your game's "Media" folder, e.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Sudden Strike 3\Media
2. Agree to overwrite existing files in this process. If you have the original game from Steam or disc, everything else in your game will still work but the new missions will be playable.
Missions are campaign mode scenarios (go to single player, new game and campaign) under these names:
Day 1, Special Military Operation (Russian campaign, 2 missions)
Kyiv Offensive (Ukrainian campaign, 2 missions)
Installing this campaign pack after installing other campaign packs will remove the other campaign packs (please always install the latest campaign pack to keep everything!)
This mod may not be compatible with other mods. If you have issues with "Modern Arms" missions, make sure you have installed the latest content for "Modern Arms" from Moddb.com
Uninstall instructions:
Reinstall the original game or other mod you were using
Changelog to Version 3 of "Kyiv Offensive" campaign pack:
*changed target priorities on BMP-3 weapons so it will keep fighting vehicle targets with the autocannon when it runs out of primary shell ammo
*in Brovary mission (Ukrainian campaign) reduced Russian reinforcement frequency and appetite for tank losses, eased Ukrainian access to SPGs in Brovary mission due to the start of the mission being too difficult
*removed the ability to transport tripod-mounted ATGMs in IFVs/APCs
*corrected damage zone for the right track on BMP-2 and BMP-2M models
*ATGM (Javelin and Kornet) damage increased but accuracy decreased so accumulating troop experience and high volume of units is rewarded
*altered transport helicopter bounding boxes to try to reduce pathfinding difficulty
*corrected animation names on Ukrainian infantry and derived infantry based on the model (Azov, Ukrainian Marines)
*significant ammo reserves added to maps that should sustain prolonged operations; also more depots among enemy positions for skilled commanders to get
*removed the pile of unmanned ATGMs from Chernihiv, provided portable NLAWs to Ukrainians in the reinforcement stream instead
*in Chernihiv mission, improved Russian tactics and add more Ukrainian capabilities
*lengthened script timers to address looping script bug (linked to infinite reinforcement streams and premature victory triggers)
*limited camera pans associated with the above bugs

Will the mariupol map be large?
there might be two maps for Mariupol, an urban one and an industrial one. Because the sea is included, making them 2km instead of 1km is an option but I have not decided yet, will need to study the real maps to decide
UPDATE: Version 2 available (fixed some awful bugs in Russian mission 2 and did several fixes on the BTR-80 to allow drivers to look out the hatch as well as making it look more accurate)
i need sudden strike 3 from steam to play this or it will work in the free version of sudden strike 3?
it should still work with other mods and versions of Sudden Strike 3. It will overwrite the models file in such other mods, which might remove units that are exclusive to those other mods
