Operation Remembrance is a massive expansion and realism mod for EA's Battlefield: Vietnam. Operation Remembrance has been created by Denal Douglas, a private mod-maker, and has been in the works for almost nine years. It adds dozens of maps, small arms, weapons emplacements, aircraft, land vehicles, and naval vessels, as well as significant improvements to the AI, making singleplayer more fun and more challenging.
I know a lot of people out there have been waiting for V1.2 of Operation Remembrance, and I'm sorry that it's been so long since the last update. This article would have been out in early July, but I had an unfortunate accident and a file was corrupted, costing me a full two months' worth of work. On the plus side, I was able to redo the work in significantly less time, and in the process began implementing new ways to streamline the code and reduce file sizes, so Operation Remembrance will be better off than ever before.
I can't really provide an estimate for V1.2's release date. I'm hoping to have it out by the end of the year, but I don't know for sure. At this point, I still have to add about two dozen more vehicles and small arms, rework a number of the faction/character models, perform a massive overhaul of the bot code, completely redo the kit system, and edit all of the maps to bring them up to standard with the new features, in addition to adding new maps. So V1.2 is going to be a while, but I can guarantee that it's on its way.
In the meantime, here's a look at some new helicopters that I've added, and remodeled versions of the M16 and the XM177:
And also, here are some preview images of the new sights for Operation Remembrance's rocket launchers and grenade launchers. As of this point, every rocket/grenade launcher in the mod (with the exception of the guided Redeye and SA-7), from the M20 Bazooka to the M79 grenade launcher and the M67 recoilless rifle to the RPG-18, has functional sights that can be used to adjust for the rocket/grenade's trajectory at range. V1.2 will come with a folder of pictures explaining how to use each weapon's sight, and these are a few examples.

Hi there, I got an issue with the mod, in some way I got all the vehicles and stationary weapons corrupted, I tried reinstalling both (mod and game) but ended up with the same result
Playing with recommended graphics settings including resolution, applied all the game patches in order to work but I got the same bug, so if you have a recommendation or something would be nice.
Thank you!
How exactly are they corrupted? The models? Textures?
Models and textures
I'm not sure what could be causing that, but I think the people over at HelloClan.eu might be able to help. You'll have to create an account, but it's free. They should have what you need.
Nice, the new vehicle models and guns look so great. The new sight of rocket launchers and grenade launchers it definitely game changer.I suggest maybe you should add practice map like in the video
It's not really a practice map, it's more of a "test" map. There was a point when Operation Remembrance was so full of bugs that I needed a "clean" environment to test things one or two at a time without other assets causing problems or crashes, so I made that map, "Proving Grounds" as a way of having a map with only a few things in it at once.
When the new updates will coming out? pls dont nerf SP i having a great time with it and i hope you bring back hidden weapons on every map.i love exploring the map.
I have to do a few more things to get ready for another preview. I wanted to have some news out a while ago for everyone, but I lost two months' worth of work when a file got corrupted, which set me back pretty far. I'm hoping to have an article and video showing off the new M16 model and some of the new vehicles I've added within the next week. As for when the update itself is going to be available for download, it's going to be a while. I don't know how long. I'm definitely not going to ruin singleplayer, and if anything, I'm hoping that massive changes I'm making to the bot code will make it better than ever before. I also WILL be bringing back the weapons kits on the maps, and there will probably be more to find on each map than the previous versions had. For now, you can check out my Youtube channel to see a video showing off the new cruiser I added, if you haven't seen it already.
the new cruiser look cool,i have more question why some of the huey become standard one with 2 gun on the door instead of huey gunship like in operation game warden and operation bribie is this new change, bugs or just random spawn?
I'm experimenting with different ways of balancing the gameplay by switching out certain vehicles, especially helicopter gunships. None of that is really set as final and will probably change with V1.2. The most recently-released patch, V1.1, is just a stop-gap until I can get V1.2 out, and that's when a lot of fine-tuning of the maps will be performed, so a lot of vehicle spawns and things like that will change.
