Prehistoric Hunt is the multiplayer dinosaur hunting game you have been waiting for. Join your friends on memorable hunting trips or go solo. And remember to be careful as the hunted creatures can hunt you too!
This game is in active development. We release updates to the game frequently. You can give feedback and affect what features will be in the game.
Prehistoric Hunt is played on a large island. The island is inhabited by different kinds of dinosaur species. The terrain of the island varies from high mountains to dense forests and open plains.
Hunt dinosaurs with your friends or do it on your own. Choose to complete varying hunting assignments to gain rewards for new equipment or freely hunt whatever you like. Find tracks on the ground or listen for dinosaur calls to catch the prey you want.
Many very different dinosaur species live on the island. Some are calmer herbivores and others more aggressive carnivores. Some species also like to live in herds making finding more of them easier. Carnivores may end up eating some of the herbivores. All of the dinosaurs can be a danger to the hunter. Beware of their keen senses!
Players can utilize multiple different weapons in their hunting adventure. Hunting can be done with traditional firearms but there is also an option to use tranquilizers. Some weapons have more firepower, some are quicker to handle. Players start of their hunting with a basic hunting rifle and pistol. When players complete more hunting assignments they get access to more powerful weapons. Players will also have to take into account the shooting distance to target as the bullets start to drop on longer distances. The bullets also don't last forever.

You guys have created quite possibly the best dinosaur hunting game ever. The game is progressing very well, just a few more model tweaks and cleaned up animations and some more maps and this would be perfect.
Really cool concept! It reminds me of the old Carnivores games I used to play on my old Pentium computer :D
Interesting concept ... I would bet this game takes inspiration directly from Carnivores, which was released long long ago in late 90s.
My advice - keep the hardcore part of the game truly hardcore, and some parameters as possible to customize from within the game.
I would assume the AI of dinos would be the biggest thing to make in this type of game. Singleplayer would be interesting ( eventually ) , with maybe potential scenarios aside just hunting ( stranded alone, with little or no ammo, go to evac point )
Hello. I actually hadn't tried Carnivores games until very recently, but they indeed are very similar to the ideas we have about this game.
We want to keep the game challenging and not dumbed down. Customizing and modding is something that we want to bring into the game.
The AI of dinos is very important and I focus heavily on it, as it is the main meat of the game.
I like the idea of scenarios and it's something that I have thought myself too that it could bring variety to gameplay. The game can already be played solo too.
Thank you for your feedback.
Its great to hear youre making modding possible - one can easily compare non-moddable games to heavily moddable ones and see the massive difference and impact of the mods.
With good core mechanics in game, the mods eventually can make the game grew on its own.
I assume there will be no crafting, base building or similar. Or maybe even no survival mechanics ( or maybe later ). But the game will more focus on immersive tension - which definitely requires a very good AI of dinos, very good sound effects and ambience.
Yeah, we want to focus on the immersion, hunting, ambiance and dinosaurs. We wont do base building and crafting will be very minimal if any.
Developers always have their own vision of the game, but by allowing modding can players create their own take on the game and thus create new experiences for players to play. I like the possibilities and experiences that modding can bring to the game, so this is something we will implement to the game.
