"They ran out of them machine bows a long time ago. Nobody's making nylon no more, or that kevlar, or what-have ya. It decays fast, and you cain't fix it. So listen here and listen close: you use what the land gives ya. Wood, sinew, bone.. that's what a bow is made outta!"

If you used an alternate start, or just don't intend to use the Intelligence perks, you generally won't be operating the machine shops, labs, or factories that you'd inevitably build to keep supplying your high-tech 'survivor'. Instead, you'll use what you find, and whatever you can make with simple tools only. LString Fallout Bow is an excellent mod for this kind of character. But if you want to stay low on the industrial end of skills, you will need to rely on a simple bow that can get you through your adventures, and the two options you get for that are the Wood Bow, and the Mongolian Bow.

Details:

1. The modern Compound and Recurve bows are a thing of the past, you cannot make them or find any usable examples of them. Their unique synthetic materials and delicate engineered parts have been long forgotten and abandoned for simpler weapons. Consequently, there are only two kinds of bow available:

2. The Mongolian Bow is the most self-sufficient option. Having bone-laminated limbs, it starts out very powerful, at the top of the food chain for damage (60). Without any special skills, you can make the swallowtail and swallowtail (fire) arrows for it any time, anywhere.
Additional arrow types can now be used as well, if you can find them: field points, broadheads, incendiary, and explosive.

3. The Wood Bow is more versatile, and easier to tweak with reinforcements, sights, and a wider variety of arrows, but has a less intense base damage (45).
Without any special skills, you can make the stone point and/or the swallowtail arrows (and their fire variants).
Any of the additional arrow types can also be used, if you can find them.

4. Incendiary and Explosive arrows can be made if you have the Demolitions Expert and Lockpicking perks. These no longer require Gun Nut; considering that you can make a grenade with only the Demoltions perk, making a smaller one for an arrow simply requires more delicate work, which a lockpicker would be suited for.
No other arrow making details were changed.

5. Replacing Iron Fist, bow strength (70+) upgrades now require Strong Back [6] or Steady Aim [7] perks, as they can only be acquired by having actual strength.

6. The Arrow Switcher can be crafted at the Chem station with everything else, and added as a hotkey. The MCM version cannot bind a key for some reason - its pointing to the handler, but won't bind. There could be a number of reasons for that, but since the craftable switcher works, I left it alone.

7. I have updated the loading screen models and verbiage to accurately reflect the lore of this mod.

8. Edited the mesh of the Mongolian bow to more accurately resemble the RL Mongolian bows, by narrowing down the width of the limbs.

9. Greatly darkened the texture of the Wood bow to indicate that it has been waterproofed with pitch or resin.

10. Updated the 3rd person animations with fixed versions provided by wodnjs7125 (thank you!)

Installation:

1. Install with the mod manager of your choice.
2. Do not enable this mod and LString Fallout Bow at the same time, they will conflict.
