What is “Project Citadel?”
Project Citadel is serving as a remake to Half Life 2 in a few unique and light weight ways.
Maps
In a series of uniquely redesigned maps, we allow the player to interact with the environment in a way Half Life 2 wasn’t able to achieve. Project Citadel is also features retexturing for better continuity with other entries in the series, while also adding props from Half Life 2 Episodes, Counter Strike, and Day Of Defeat to match the artstyle of the rest of the game. In this series of uniquely redesigned maps, players have the option to think of new solutions to old puzzles, alongside new, unique puzzles for extra supplies and bonus content.
Engine
Project Citadel uses the advantages of the Source 2013 branch to handle more weight than the original Half Life 2 engine could. This gives a few more options for new puzzles and worldbuilding that Half Life 2 wasn’t able to pull off in its original release.
Weapon and Squad Mechanics
Project Citadel introduces several new mechanics, such as several weapons receiving different modes of fire, ability to add Vortigaunts to your squad, and improved gunplay. Gameplay Mechanics Project Citadel now allows Civil Protection to throw grenades with decreased damage to encourage proper use of cover and give more opportunities to throw them back. Project Citadel also supplies SLAMS, a cut weapon from Half Life 2, to spice up defense segments.
Enemy Variety
Some enemies are being retextured to add some much needed variety to the enemy pool. These include Refugee Zombies, Citizen Zombie variants, Rebel Zombie variants, and Civil Protection zombie variants.
By the way, here's a poster that was made of the hate comments:

I hop this won't be a gosht mod. I really want to see how it's going to look.
Happy to see someone give this a shot, I've always wanted to see it attempted!
