As an introduction to the Modern Arms mod, you can now play three missions bringing modern Soviet and Russian/Ukrainian weapons into Sudden Strike 3. Updated to Version 3 on 10 August 2023 with some corrections:
Battle of the Siverskyi Donets (Ukraine)
First Battle of Lyman (Russia)
Soledar Encirclement (PMC Wagner)
Ukrainian Front
Install instructions:
1. unzip the file, then copy and paste the files and folders from it into your game's "Media" folder, e.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Sudden Strike 3\Media
2. Agree to overwrite existing files in this process. If you have the original game from Steam or disc, everything else in your game will still work but the new missions will be playable.
Missions are single player custom scenarios under these names:
Battle of the Siverskyi Donets (Ukraine)
First Battle of Lyman (Russia)
Soledar Encirclement (PMC Wagner)
This mod may not be compatible with other mods. If you have issues with other "Modern Arms" missions, make sure you have installed the latest content for "Modern Arms" from Moddb.com
Uninstall instructions:
Reinstall the original game
Changelog to Version 3:
*corrections to the "Soledar Encirclement" mission scripts to support Ukrainian resistance at Salt Mine No. 2 and enforce a Ukrainian vehicle population cap
*removed the ability to transport tripod-mounted ATGMs in IFVs/APCs
*corrected damage zone for the right track on BMP-2 and BMP-2M models
*ATGM (Javelin and Kornet) damage increased but accuracy decreased so accumulating troop experience and high volume of units is rewarded
*corrected animation names on Ukrainian infantry and derived infantry based on the model (Azov, Ukrainian Marines)
*significant ammo reserves added to maps that should sustain prolonged operations; also more depots among enemy positions for skilled commanders to get
*lengthened script timers to address looping script bug (linked to infinite reinforcement streams and premature victory triggers)
*made Battle of the Siverskyi Donets editable
*extra change from 12/08/2023: corrected behaviour and damage from Ukrainian NLAW and Javelin soldiers
Great , will there be a sequel ?
Steamcommunity.com
Fakeoff.org
more like a prequel because it will show the battles in Hostomel (helicopter invasion), Brovary (ambushes), Chernihiv (ambushes), and Pripyat

Media are the official representatives of the army of the Russian Federation?
ive loved playing sudden strike 3 for years and i always wanted to play a modern warfare mod like this , thank you so much for making this mod,
Thank you for creating this, can i play this by downloading A FREE version of sudden strike? or is it neccesary to purchase it from steam ?
I think there is no harm in trying this mod with other versions of the game. Do forgive me if you have any issues though, and problems may not be due to compatibility at all but just because the content is freshly made. It will get better with each update :)
just played these campaigns and faced no issues all along, eagerly waiting for the new ukraine war campaigns and new units
thanks, and here I was making lists of problems. Things will get better still
Should we be expecting new units and campaigns?
Are you working on them and when u will release any idea?
yes, there will be a Mariupol-themed campaign pack next, then a "counteroffensive" themed mission pack focused on the current counteroffensive and introducing a Western weapons set. I intend to have done all of that by early August, then through the rest of August I will try to quickly make the Syria and Yemen conflicts into the game with reskins and some new infantry and buildings
Thats going to be amazing bro, and it will be much better if u make large maps for the counter offensive campaign, so u can also make some airfields for aircrafts, and I’d love to see some airfights too, and syrian campaign will be dope i hope
